Job description

As Assistant Finance Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting the Financial Controller with the production of accurate and timely financial reporting, ensuring strong financial control across all areas of business. You will assist in month-end, year-end, and budgeting processes, while also providing valuable insight to drive performance and efficiency. What will you be doing?

  • Support the preparation of monthly management accounts, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting.
  • Complete and review balance sheet reconciliations to maintain robust financial control.
  • Ensure accuracy across P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cashflow statements, and explain material variances to budget and prior year.
  • Assist with year-end statutory accounts, including audit preparation and liaison with external auditors.
  • Support the completion of annual budgets and reforecasts, working closely with senior management.
  • Provide assistance to the purchase and sales ledger teams with ad hoc queries.
  • Review and monitor the daily cashflow forecast.
  • Support wider Finance projects, including the implementation of a new ERP system.
  • Strong numerical and communication skills.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft suites including Excel.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced setting, with self motivation and ability to prioritise workload according.
  • Starting or progressing through a professional financial qualification.
  • Relevant experience is a previous financial accountant role.
