Job summary

GXO Logistics, Inc. in Barnsley is seeking an Assistant Finance Manager to support our ASOS operation.

You will work closely with operational leaders, stakeholders, and the finance team to deliver accurate reporting, budgeting and commercial analysis while leading a small team. This full-time role offers a structured schedule, a competitive salary up to £42,000 per year, generous leave, and a comprehensive benefits package including pension, private medical & dental insurance, and more.

Qualifications

• Part-qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA required or in progress.
• Strong Excel and financial reporting skills.
• Experience with management accounts and budgeting/forecasting processes.
• Healthy stakeholder management ability to challenge and influence.
• Prior team management or mentoring experience is a plus.

Are you part-qualified Accountant looking for the next step in your finance career? Can you turn financial data into meaningful insights that support business decisions? Do you enjoy partnering with operational teams in a fast-paced open-book logistics environment?

Join GXO as an Assistant Finance Manager supporting our ASOS operation in Barnsley. Working closely with operational leaders, customer stakeholders and the wider finance team, you'll play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and commercial analysis. This is an excellent opportunity for a part-qualified accountant looking to broaden their business partnering experience, develop leadership skills and gain exposure to a large, fast-moving logistics operation while supporting the Finance Manager and leading a small team.

This is a full time, permanent, position working Monday to Friday 08:00 to 16:00, we so have flexibility around start and finish times.

We're looking to offer a salary of up to £42,000.00 per annum, and 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays). What you'll do on a typical day:

• Produce daily, weekly and monthly financial reporting, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines
• Support budgeting, forecasting and forecasting activities for both GXO and the customer
• Analyse financial performance and provide meaningful commentary on variances and trends
• Manage and develop a small finance team, supporting performance and development
• Partner with operational teams to provide financial insight, challenge costs and support decision-making

What you need to succeed at GXO:

• Part-qualified CIMA / ACCA / ACA and experience within a finance or management accounting role
• Strong Excel and financial reporting skills, with the ability to analyse and interpret data
• Experience preparing management accounts and supporting budgeting and forecasting processes
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the confidence to challenge and influence operational teams
• Previous team management or mentoring experience and the ambition to progress your finance career
