Job description

RSR is recruiting for an experienced Assistant Finance Business Partner for a 12‑month, full‑time contract with a Police Force.

The role is based across two sites in Birmingham and incorporates a hybrid working policy.

Pay: £42,897 (£22.23p per hour) to £48,894 (£25.34p per hour).

Applicants must be able to obtain national security vetting.

Role overview

The Assistant Finance Business Partner will support the Finance Business Partner by providing insightful financial analysis and challenging financial performance. The role holder will advise to ensure that WMP achieves value for money and maximises value.

Main Responsibilities
  • Work in partnership with financial accountants, shared services and workforce planning to ensure that financial and workforce information is recorded and controlled efficiently.
  • Complete all relevant journals and reconciliations, checking and challenging submissions from the business, and ensure the production and dissemination of accurate and timely financial data.
  • Support the annual budget setting process and longer‑term financial planning by analysing service area budget proposals to ensure budgets and savings plans are robust.
Experience
  • Compile and analyse financial data, check and challenge performance against targets, and provide professional advice and guidance on financial matters.
  • Knowledge of all relevant statutory, regulatory and professional accounting standards.
Qualification

Part qualified accountant – Undertaking a CCAB qualification (ICAEW/ACCA/CIMA/CIPFA) or equivalent.

Knowledge and experience of using industry standard accounting systems, and working knowledge of Microsoft Office components.
