Our client is a well-established main contractor based in Hampton with a turnover of £12M, delivering high-quality refurbishment, new build, and fit-out projects across London, including Kensington, Chelsea, and Mayfair. Specialising in heritage, conservation, residential, commercial, education, and healthcare sectors, they are seeking an Assistant Estimator to join their team. Responsibilities
  • Assisting in preparing accurate cost estimates for refurbishment, fit-out, and new build projects.
  • Supporting tender submissions and pricing for a range of heritage, commercial, and residential schemes.
  • Liaising with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams to gather cost information.
  • Attending site visits and meetings to assess project requirements.
  • Maintaining up-to-date records of pricing, specifications, and supplier databases.
  • Supporting the handover of successful tenders to project delivery teams.
  • Gaining exposure to project surveying duties as part of career development.
Requirements
  • Relevant degree, HNC, or HND in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management, or 2+ years' experience as an Estimator or Quantity Surveyor. Ideally both.
  • Good understanding of construction processes and materials.
  • Strong IT skills (Excel, email) and excellent communication abilities.
  • Able to build strong relationships with colleagues, suppliers, and clients.
  • Must be based within an easy commute of Hampton.
  • Motivated to progress and take on greater responsibility over time.
