We have an exciting role on offer within our Children’s services as an Assistant Educational Psychologist.

Would you like to Join a supportive and ambitious Educational Psychology Service where relationships, consultation and early intervention are at the heart of what we do?

Middlesbrough Educational Psychology Service is seeking enthusiastic, reflective and compassionate Assistant Educational Psychologists to join our growing and ambitious team.

This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside Educational Psychologists within a highly regarded service as we launch Middlesbrough’s innovative Experts at Hand Service in Autumn 2026. The service is designed to strengthen inclusion, build capacity within educational settings and improve outcomes for children and young people through consultation, training, intervention and collaborative problem-solving.

As an Assistant Educational Psychologist, you will work closely with Educational Psychologists to support the delivery of Experts at Hand across schools and settings. We are a supportive team that values collaboration, professional curiosity and reflective practice.

The role is offered on a hybrid basis, combining home working with office-based work and visits to schools and other settings across Middlesbrough.

Middlesbrough is ideally situated between the River Tees, the North Sea coast and the North Yorkshire Moors, offering excellent transport links and access to both urban and rural environments. In addition, Middlesbrough Council offers a range of employee benefits and wellbeing support.
