Job summary

Sky News in London is seeking a senior editorial leader to commission and deliver stories across our web and app, and manage dynamic on-the-day news coverage. This shift-based role includes early and late shifts and some weekends.

You will lead the web and app editorial teams, make key decisions, sign off sensitive journalism, and coordinate with TV correspondents and the wider newsroom to shape the day’s agenda.

Qualifications

• Sharp editorial judgement.
• Experience handling big breaking news scenarios and keeping cool under pressure.
• Legal knowledge and best-practice experience to critique and sign-off sensitive journalism.
• The agility to multi-task and ability to identify priorities.
• Significant newsroom and management experience.

This senior editorial role will put you at the sharp end of Sky News journalism, commissioning and delivering stories and managing dynamic on-the-day news coverage across Sky’s web and app. There will be considerable team management responsibilities across the digital team.

This is a shift-based role including earlies, lates and some weekends.
