Aspect Ecology, part of the APEM Group, is recruiting an Assistant Ecologist in Crawley. This early-career role blends hands-on fieldwork with desk-based science, offering licences training and clear development paths within a supportive team.

You will spend about three days weekly in the field during peak season and work on diverse projects across the South East of England and beyond. A full UK driving licence and travel are expected.

Qualifications

• A relevant degree or postgraduate qualification with strong academic record.
• Interest in natural history and familiarity with UK flora and fauna.
• Understanding of UK wildlife legislation.
• Able to work under pressure, in a fast-paced environment, and collaborate with others.
• Willingness to travel across the UK with overnight stays and a full UK driving licence.

Responsabilités

• Conduct field surveys during peak season with early starts and occasional nights away.
• Assist in ecological surveys and assessments across the South East of England and beyond.
• Collaborate with the team and develop as a consultant with development pathways.
• Support licences and specialist experience in species like great crested newts, bats and dormice.
