Job summary

Central Alliance, part of the RSK Group, is seeking an Assistant Driller to support safe, high-quality drilling projects across the UK. You will assist the lead driller on rotary drilling, window sampling, and concrete coring, follow safety procedures, and help produce client-ready samples.

You will undertake site paperwork, maintain equipment, and communicate with engineers and clients. Occasional weekend work on railway sites is required with overtime rates.

Qualifications

• Attend and pass internal and external training courses (CSCS, PTS, CCNSG and First Aid).
• Maintenance of ground investigation plant, equipment and tools.
• Assist lead driller with rotary and windowless sampling drilling operations.
• Familiar with conventional coring systems (PWF, T6-116, T6-H, 412, SWF).

Responsibilities

• Act as an assistant driller primarily for rotary drilling and occasional window sampling or concrete coring.
• Weekend working on railway sites with overtime rates (24hrs for a single shift).
• Adhere to best working practices and industry standards; training provided for all staff.
• Adhere to internal working instructions from engineers, lead drillers and supervisors.
• Provide paperwork: timesheets and equipment inspection sheets weekly.
• Communicate with internal parties.
