Job summary

Plumpton College in Lewes seeks an ambitious Assistant Curriculum Manager - Equine to shape and deliver outstanding equine education. You will work with the Curriculum Manager to drive high-quality provision, support staff development and ensure excellent learner outcomes.

The role includes designing programmes, line managing staff, delivering high-quality teaching, leading quality improvement, and engaging with employers while safeguarding and inclusion stay central.

Qualifications

  • Hold a degree or professional qualification in equine (or a related subject).
  • Has a recognised teaching qualification appropriate to the level of delivery.
  • Has extensive equine industry experience and strong specialist subject knowledge.
  • Is an excellent teacher with a track record of good or outstanding practice.
  • Has the ability to support, motivate and develop a high-performing team.
  • Is highly organised, adaptable and confident using data and digital systems.
  • Is passionate about student success, inclusion and safeguarding.
  • Holds Level 2 (or above) English and maths, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Plumpton College is seeking an ambitious and passionate Assistant Curriculum Manager - Equine to play a key role in shaping and delivering outstanding equine education.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced equine professional and high-performing teacher who is ready to take the next step into curriculum leadership. Working closely with the Curriculum Manager, you will help drive high-quality provision, support and develop staff, and ensure excellent outcomes for learners.

About the Role

As Assistant Curriculum Manager, you will:

  • Design, develop and manage high-quality equine programmes that meet awarding body requirements and industry needs
  • Line manage and mentor staff, supporting performance, development and wellbeing
  • Deliver and model consistently high-quality teaching, learning and assessment
  • Lead on quality improvement activity, including standardisation, internal verification and KPI monitoring

You will also contribute to marketing and recruitment activity, employer engagement, and whole-college events.
