Job summary

Elior UK is seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Cook to join our campus dining team in Glasgow. You will support the kitchen in preparing and cooking meals to high standards of quality, hygiene and presentation, and assist with daily tasks to ensure smooth meal service.

You’ll collaborate with the kitchen team, follow food safety rules, help with stock and portioning, and thrive in a busy environment. Working pattern: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Some experience or interest in food preparation and cooking.
• Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
• Ability to work well as part of a team.
• Good communication and time management skills.
• Willingness to learn and take direction.
• Physical stamina to work in a busy kitchen environment.
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and cooking of food according to menus and recipes
• Follow food safety and hygiene standards at all times
• Help maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen and equipment
• Support stock rotation and inventory management
• Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure timely and efficient service
• Assist with portion control and presentation of dishes

What you’ll be doing…
