Job summary

Nomad Foods invites a German-speaking Assistant Controller to join our finance centre in London with hybrid working. You will manage Germany fixed asset activities, including month-end close, depreciation, and asset disposals, while coordinating across teams and supporting the German FRC team.

The role requires experience in fixed assets, strong Excel/Outlook skills, and the drive to improve processes. The candidate should be pursuing AAT/CIMA/ACCA or an equivalent qualification.

Job description

Permanent role - Based in Hammersmith (Hybrid)

We are currently recruiting for a German speaking Assistant Controller to join our diverse shared finance centre playing a key role in our daily finance operations. You will be working alongside a talented, like-minded team for some of Europe’s largest frozen food brands including Birdseye, Aunt Bessie, Findus and Goodfella pizzas.

Key Accountabilities:

• Carrying out the SFC Fixed Asset related activities for Germany month-end, quarter-end close process for SFC Fixed Asset activities, processing additions, disposals, depreciation etc


• Co-ordinating and completing the associated processes for fixed assets across teams commentaries, depreciation bookings, managing overall Iglo Germany fixed asset related issues


• Contributing as required to the wider team objectives of the German FRC team. These could be ad-hoc, could change over time and will be additional to the fixed asset activities


• Contributing to improvements in processes especially in the fixed assets area


• Standardising fixed asset approach with other clusters, changing processes for VIM environment, resolving P&L GLs and account imbalance, etc.


• Managing external audit requirements for fixed assets

About you:

Applicants ideally would have some experience within a financial accounting team or be studying towards a financial qualification. Experience and knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Outlook is essential. Accuracy and attention to detail is imperative.

• Computer skills including the ability to operate


• computerised accounting, spreadsheet (Excel), and email (Outlook) at a proficient level


• Confident with strong communication skills and ability to articulate findings to stakeholders in written and oral forms
