Main duties of the job
  • To support the Trust's Deputy Head of Estates (Service Delivery), Estates Contract Manager in ensuring that the Hard FM Managed Service provider meets both the spirit and detail of the outsourced contract in terms of responsiveness, quality of service and workmanship.
  • To provide an effective and professional service delivering efficiencies and benefit to the organisation.
  • To ensure that all information relevant to the Hard FM managed services contract is made available to both the Head and Deputy Head of Estates Service Delivery in terms of provider performance and conformity to standards and the contract.
  • To ensure that the service is delivered in accordance with the accepted best practice, both National and International laws and Trust Policies and Procedures.
  • To Act as the "Authorised Person" (AP) for a number of specific services/trades.
  • Deputise for the Estates Contract Manager as and when necessary for all sites operated by Imperial College NHS Healthcare Trust and 'act up' to Estates Contract Manager duties when required.

  • Specialist works and building knowledge including relevant legislation, guidance and best practice
  • Significant experience of working in a large Acute Health Care Environment in an operational management role

  • Relevant training related to hospital maintenance or safe systems of work
Experience

  • Experience of working in a large acute Trust
  • Experience of managing complex information systems using bespoke software
  • Writing formal Risk Assessments and subsequent risk control and management

Desirable criteria
  • Five years experience of Estates Operations Maintenance and management.

  • A Good working knowledge of electrical & mechanical engineering theory & practice.
  • Experience and knowledge of writing and analysing key performance metrics to monitor and improve services.
  • A comprehensive understanding and knowledge of hospital stakeholders and regulations.
  • Ability to work independently with respect to safety, quality and risk management.
  • Fully competent in the use of modern office, financial and database software applications
  • Skill in research and developing more cost-effective ways of achieving safety in high value equipment maintenance.
