WSP in the UK & Ireland is seeking a candidate for an air quality assessment role based in Birmingham. Responsibilities include dispersion modelling, designing monitoring plans, managing projects, and liaising with clients. The ideal candidate will have a degree in a scientific discipline, strong numerical and communication skills, and experience in data analysis using Excel and GIS. Membership of the IAQM is preferred, along with a proactive and accountable approach to work.

Formación

• Degree in a scientific discipline required.
• Excellent communication skills in both oral and written contexts.

• Membership (affiliate or associate) of IAQM preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Conduct dispersion modelling using ADMS and ADMS‑Roads.
• Design and implement air quality monitoring plans.
• Contribute to bid submissions, quotes, and tenders.
• Manage project budget, programme, and scope.
• Liaise with clients, project teams, and authorities.
• Collate and analyze air quality data.
• Prepare detailed reports.

The role is based in our Birmingham office and involves air quality assessment, monitoring and dispersion modelling across a range of projects.

Responsibilities

• Dispersion modelling, primarily using ADMS and ADMS‑Roads.
• Designing and implementing ambient air quality monitoring plans, including passive and automatic techniques.
• Contributing to bid submissions, preparing quotes and tenders.
• Project management of budget, programme and scope.
• Liaising with internal and external clients, project teams and local authorities.
• Collating and analysing data.
• Report writing.

Qualifications

• Good numerical skills.
• A degree in a scientific discipline.
• Ability to work within a team.
• Excellent oral and written communication and IT skills.
• Ability to write clear, concise reports and proposals.
• Experience with data analysis and interpretation using Excel and GIS.
• Positive and proactive approach.
• Excellent working knowledge of relevant legislation, policy, technical guidance and industry standards and best practice relating to air quality.
• Demonstrated accountability for driving own utilisation and personal development, and that of the wider team.
• Membership (affiliate or associate) of the Institute of Air Quality Management (IAQM).
