Assistant Company Secretary - 12-Month Fixed Term Contract

Salary: £85,000 per annum
Location: London (Hybrid)

A leading organisation is seeking an experienced Assistant Company Secretary to join its established Secretariat team on a 12-month fixed term contract. This is an excellent opportunity to take on a broad and varied company secretarial role within a complex, fast-paced corporate environment.

The Role

The successful candidate will support the delivery of high-quality company secretarial and governance services across a range of group entities and joint ventures. You will work closely with senior management, providing guidance on corporate governance matters, supporting board and committee meetings, and ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements. You'll also assist with routine and ad hoc corporate transactions, oversee statutory records, and contribute to maintaining strong governance standards across the group.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide professional company secretarial and governance advice to senior stakeholders.
  • Support the coordination and management of board and committee meetings, including preparation of agendas, papers, and minutes.
  • Manage statutory filings and maintain accurate entity records.
  • Draft resolutions and support annual accounts and approval processes.
  • Assist on a range of corporate and transactional projects.
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to process improvements.
About You
  • Chartered Governance Institute (ICSA/CGIUKI) qualified or equivalent, with at least 5 years' post-qualified experience.
  • Strong technical understanding of company law and governance best practice.
  • Confident communicator with excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Comfortable working both autonomously and collaboratively in a busy environment.
  • Experience within real estate or a listed environment would be advantageous but is not essential.
