Job summary

Busy Bees Matlock is seeking an Assistant Chef to join the kitchen team and prepare nutritious meals that support children's growth and development. You will work on-site in a nurturing environment within the early years sector, contributing to children’s wellbeing and gaining valuable catering experience.

You will assist in overseeing kitchen operations, maintain food safety standards, and collaborate with the Chef to ensure smooth service and stock management.

Qualifications

• Experience in leadership within early years settings.
• Strong mentoring and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to drive improvements and ensure compliance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare healthy, nutritious meals that meet dietary requirements for children.
• Support the Chef in overseeing kitchen operations and ensuring food safety and hygiene.
• Maintain kitchen inventory and assist with stock management and ordering.
• Assist in cleaning and maintenance of kitchen equipment.
