Location: Wendreth Court, Cambridgeshire

Salary: £12.75 per hour – final rate discussed at interview

Contract Type: Bank (flexible hours as and when required)

Glenholme Healthcare’s brand-new care home, Wendreth Court is looking for an Assistant Chef to join us on a bank contract!

We are seeking an Assistant Chef who can deliver high-quality, wholesome dishes prepared to the highest standards.

Job requirements of an Assistant Chef:
  • Previous experience as a cook or a chef.
  • Sound knowledge of COSHH, HACCP, Environmental Health Standards/Regulations, Safer Food Better Business & Allergy Advice etc.
  • Excellent time-keeping skills and great attention to detail.
  • Enhanced DBS check required.
As an Assistant Chef, you will be responsible for:
  • Assisting the Chef with negotiating and securing the best prices and value for food purchases and meeting budgets.
  • Ensuring a healthy, balanced, and nutritious “home-cooked” approach to dietary requirements.
  • Ensuring food is cooked in a hygienic environment and quality is maintained at all times.
  • Controlling food allocation to avoid food wastage.
  • Ensuring staff employed within your kitchen adhere to current relevant regulations and policies of the home.
  • Maintaining knowledge of COSHH, HACCP, Environmental Health Standards/Regulations, Safer Food Better Business & Allergy Advice etc.
