Job summary

HC-One are looking for an Assistant Chef with at least a Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate and a great understanding of HACCP. You'll be organised, meet deadlines, present food attractively and follow recipes precisely, while being kind to Residents and co-workers.

In this role you will support the First Chef, manage stock and budget, mentor colleagues and ensure high standards of kitchen hygiene. HC-One emphasises safeguarding and resident wellbeing across its dementia, nursing and care homes.

Qualifications

• Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate required.
• Strong HACCP knowledge and food safety practices.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist First Chef and cover in their absence.
• Manage food stock and budgeting for meals.
• Coach colleagues and supervise kitchen clean-up.
• Ensure resident wellbeing and safe food handling.
