Overview

Argyles Care Home, Pound Street, Newbury RG14 6AE. Assistant Chef / 2nd Chef role with 40 hours on days. Salary: £13.04 - £14.58 per hour (depending on experience). Permanent contract. Welcome bonus*.

Argyles has an experienced team of registered nurses and carers providing nursing, residential, convalescence, respite, palliative and Parkinson's care. The Tudor-style house offers a comfortable environment with lounges, gardens and en-suite bedrooms. Meals are balanced and nutritional, with catering for dietary needs and favourites. The kitchen supports themed monthly events and seasonal activities.

Responsibilities

• Using passion for cooking and fresh ingredients to create varied and nutritional menus in line with dietary needs and residents’ preferences
• Putting forward ideas to deliver an excellent dining experience and help residents feel at home
• Training and managing the kitchen team in prepping, cooking and serving of food
• Adhering to COSHH and HACCP guidelines, company policies and procedures, budgets, and managing orders and deliveries
• Catering for special events or seasonal activities (e.g., summer fetes, Christmas parties, birthdays) as required
