As an Assistant Chef, you will cook and serve nutritious, healthy meals that Residents will love. You'll support our First Chef, taking charge in their absence. Whether managing food stock, optimizing your budget, coaching colleagues, or supervising kitchen clean-up, Resident wellbeing remains your top priority.

HC-One is looking for an Assistant Chef with at least a Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate and a good understanding of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points. Beyond qualifications, your positive energy and ability to get along with people are essential. You should be organized, meet deadlines, present food attractively, and follow recipes precisely. When communicating with Residents or colleagues, kindness and consideration are vital.

Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. You should recognize signs of abuse, harm, or neglect and know the appropriate actions to take. All colleagues must attend safeguarding training relevant to their role and undertake additional training as needed. You should also be able to seek advice and report concerns, escalating issues if necessary.
