About the Role

As an Assistant Chef working within a vibrant community café setting, youll support the Café Manager in the day-to-day running of the café and help deliver an inviting space for residents to eat, meet, learn, grow and be inspired. Youll play a key role in ensuring the café remains a valued hub in the local area.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Café Manager to prepare and deliver a daily food menu.
• Provide cover and support for the Café Manager as needed.
• Assist in health & safety monitoring and café compliance.
• Develop and maintain links with local community stakeholders.
• Contribute to menu planning focused on healthy food using fresh, local and seasonal ingredients.
• Source suppliers (supporting local where possible) in line with a sustainable procurement policy.
• Manage stock and ordering processes when required.
• Support community events and activities as directed by the Café Manager / Community Hub Manager.
• Demonstrate a positive and professional attitude in all interactions with residents and the wider public.
