A community-focused charity shop in Cambridge is seeking an Assistant Charity Shop Manager. This role involves managing shop operations in the absence of the manager, ensuring high customer care standards, and supervising staff and volunteers. Candidates should have experience in retail settings, possess strong interpersonal skills, and be flexible in their working hours. This position aligns with the mission of the organization, contributing to community needs.
The post-holder in the absence of the Charity shop Manager will assist with the running of the shop and assume responsibility for the management of the shop in the absence of the Manager. These duties will include managing staff and volunteers. Key responsibilities are:
Have proven interpersonal skills, previous experience in a charity shop/retail environment and in managing staff and/or volunteers, be able to work on their own initiative and in a team, enjoy working with people, and be able to deal tactfully with staff, volunteers and the public. It is important that the candidate understands the needs of customers and has basic proficiency in Maths and English. Candidates must also be committed to the values, aims and ethos of The Salvation Army. We require someone who is willing to be flexible to work weekdays and every Saturday as part of the shop operation.
The Salvation Army, Cambridge Citadel operates a busy charity shop, which works to meet the needs of the local community and to raise funds for the work of the Corps.
