Job summary

A local care company in Amersham is seeking an Assistant Care Manager to join their award-winning team. In this role, you will guide and mentor the care team while ensuring quality care for clients, especially those with dementia. Assistant Care Manager

£27,000 - £29,000 per annum depending on experience

We are looking for an assistant care manager to join our award-winning care team, based in Amersham, Buckinghamshire. In this role you can have a positive impact on the lives of others. Working alongside the visiting care manager, you’ll provide the all-important link between our clients, our visiting carers and our office teams. You’ll be based primarily out in the field helping ensure the best possible outcomes for our clients by guiding and mentoring our carers, reviewing and updating care plans and gaining valuable feedback from our clients and their families.

To be a successful assistant care manager you’ll need a methodical approach to problem solving, excellent organisational skills and you’ll enjoy connecting and engaging with others.

What you’ll be doing
  • Guiding, mentoring, and providing crucial support to our care team through supervisions, spot checks, and ongoing guidance
  • Visiting clients to gain their feedback and views on our service and to review care plans and risk assessments
  • Contributing to care plan reviews and maintaining clear communication within the team and with the Leadership Team
  • Ensuring accurate record-keeping using our online care management system
  • Participating in on-call duties as needed
About you
  • Experience in care coordination, care supervisor, or similar
  • A minimum of 4 years' experience in care, with a strong understanding of quality care practices (experience with Dementia/Alzheimer's essential)
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Flexibility, to support at weekends and evenings
  • Compassionate, proactive, and solution-focused
  • Confident using IT systems (MS Office, care software)
  • Knowledge of CQC standards
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or working towards it) preferred
  • Driving licence and access to your own car is essential as you will be spending time out in the field visiting our clients
