Job summary

A local café and restaurant chain in Northern Ireland is seeking an Assistant Café Manager to oversee operations and ensure high standards of customer service. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 12 months experience in a similar role, proven ability to lead a team, and excellent communication skills. This position requires working 35 hours per week on a rota basis, including weekends.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 12 months experience as an Assistant Café Manager or Supervisor.
  • Experience managing teams of 10 or more staff members.
  • Capable of performing physical tasks such as lifting and standing for extended periods.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Café Manager with managing all café operations.
  • Oversee food quality and café presentation.
  • Ensure excellent customer service and attendance.

Job description

Responsibilities
  • To assist the Café Manager on overseeing and help managing all aspects of the café.
  • Oversee other aspects such as food quality, staff management and café appearance and presentation.
  • Ensure customers are being attended to quickly and efficiently, offering excellent customer service at all times.
  • Maintains high standards across all aspects of cafe operations, including food quality, hygiene/cleanliness, health & safety through a meticulous approach to tasks.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Possesses a minimum of 12 months experience of working as an Assistant Café Manager, Supervisor or similar, within a comparable environment.
  • Proven ability of delivering exceptional service, ensuring customer satisfaction and building customer loyalty.
  • Demonstrate proficient use of IT in particular Microsoft packages, epos till systems.
  • Capable of performing required tasks such as bending, stooping, lifting heavy objects, and standing for extended periods.
  • Proficient in both verbal and written communication, facilitating clear and effective interaction with staff and management.
  • Capable of helping to leading and motivating a team effectively, by setting clear expectations
  • Possesses 12 months experience working as a shift supervisor or team leader within the hospitality industry.
  • Directly managed teams of 10 or more staff members.
  • Completed relevant training or acquired qualifications applicable to the job requirements.
