A high profile global £multi-billion infrastructure contractor is looking to recruit a Assistant Buyer / Buyer.

The main objective of the role is to support a Procurement Manager in delivering a high profile rail project in London.

Key duties will include:

  • Manage the day to day project procurement of materials and subcontracts.
  • Support the procurement team with managing the tender process for subcontract packages.
  • Lead new supplier negotiations for materials not covered by frameworks.
  • Work with site project teams to deliver procurement requirements.
  • Ensure savings, rebates and compliance are achieved in line with project strategies.
  • Support the procurement team with various administration and compliance activities.

Candidate Requirements

You will be a Buyer or Assistant Buyer who is looking for career progression with at least 1 year's direct buying experience.

You will ideally be working in any construction related industry, our client is happy to also consider engineering or manufacturing experience.

Any project procurement experience would be beneficial.

Relevant degree or working towards MCIPS is desirable.
