The Assistant Buyer Role

As Assistant Buyer, you will support the procurement process, ensuring materials, packaging, and services are sourced in line with production and business requirements. You will also assist with stock control and warehouse coordination.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the development of supplier and supply chain strategies
  • Assisting in maintaining purchasing policies and procedures
  • Helping to build and manage supplier relationships
  • Assisting with negotiations and the administration of purchasing contracts

About You

We are looking for a commercially minded and enthusiastic individual who thrives in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

You will have:

  • Degree‑level education (CIPS qualification desirable)
  • Experience in a buying or procurement support role
  • A good understanding of procurement and supplier management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); SAP experience advantageous
  • Strong communication, organisation, and negotiation skills
  • A flexible, "can‑do" attitude with a focus on quality, efficiency, and results
