Job summary

Currys in London is seeking an Assistant Buyer for Headphones and Home Audio to support the Buyer and Senior Buyer in delivering a compelling product range and value for customers.

This role sits in a fast-paced Commercial team, blending collaboration with Buying, Merchandising, Online and Go-to-Market to drive sales, profitability and customer satisfaction. Hybrid working with campus meetings 2–4 times monthly.

Qualifications

• Previous buying experience within a commercial environment, ideally at Assistant Buyer level.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across teams and with external suppliers.
• Highly organised with strong analytical and numerical skills, and the ability to make informed commercial decisions.
• Commercially aware, with a strong understanding of customer needs and market trends.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, ideally including Power BI and a strong working knowledge of the wider Microsoft Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Keeping tabs on supplier relationships in line with the category strategy.
• Keeping tabs on the competition so we can set competitive prices.
• Analysing trading performance and recommending actions to drive our business.
• Supporting the Buyer and Senior Buyer in negotiating product ranges – cost pricing, additional terms, exclusivity, distribution, stock availability.
• Pricing the product range in line with agreed category CPI targets.
• Answering any store feedback specific to range and promotions.
• Daily competitor checks to ensure the team is aware of any activity in the market.

Working with some of the world's leading technology brands, you will support the Buyer and Senior Buyer in delivering a compelling product range and outstanding value for our customers.

As Assistant Buyer, you will play a key role in managing the category at SKU level, collaborating closely with Buying, Merchandising, Online and Go-to-Market teams to drive sales, profitability, and customer satisfaction. This role is ideal for a highly organised individual with a keen eye for detail, who thrives in a dynamic environment and is confident working both collaboratively and independently.

Role overview:
