A local government authority in Huddersfield is looking for a qualified Building Control professional to inspect compliance with Building Regulations. The ideal candidate will join a collaborative team, conducting examinations and liaising with different departments while supporting vulnerable communities. A Grade 10 or above qualification and Class 2A level qualification are essential. This role includes participation in an on-call emergency rota and offers a range of employee benefits.

Working as part of a busy and ambitious team, with Class 2A to 2F general level, the successful candidate will carry out examination and inspection of Building Regulation submissions, plans and site work to ensure building works comply with Building Regulations, including non-domestic projects. You will assist the Building Control Team Manager with operations within the Borough and undertake inspection/work when required throughout Kirklees and to include consultation and liaison with other sections and departments.
The successful candidate will ensure that Building Control work is carried out in accordance with procedures, timescales and deadlines.
If appointed at surveyor level, you will join the Dangerous Structure Rota to assist in the provision of an out of hours emergency service for which a standby and call out payment is provided.
