A fantastic opportunity has arisen for 2 Assistant Building Surveyor to join Darlington Borough Council working within a small team working in the social housing sector (1 x Permanent post and 1 x 3 Year FTC post).
The role of the Assistant Building Surveyor is critical to maintaining and upgrading the Councils Housing stock. You will be required to investigate, assess and record the materials, age and condition of Council housing assets, ensuring you collect and record information accurately, assisting with investment plans, capital programmes and net zero carbon strategy.
The post holder will be required to provide assistance to the Surveyors in delivering a comprehensive surveying, specification and estimating function, and to procure and manage contracts.
You must be confident with the use of IT and capable of navigating through MS Office, Outlook and have knowledge and skills in the use of databases and AutoCAD.
You must be confident to work independently, although support from the broader team is always available. We require dynamic, innovative and forward‑thinking people to join our team; it is preferable that you have some experience of working in a person‑centred environment or with older and more vulnerable client groups, although full induction and ongoing training is provided.
