Responsibilities

  • Assist the Building Manager with contract meetings and supplier performance.
  • Validate invoices and monitor ongoing expenditure.
  • Promote occupier engagement through meetings and networking.
  • Manage requests for minor works and oversee implementation.
  • Conduct daily safety tours and property inspections.
  • Ensure health, safety, and environmental management systems are maintained.
  • Support the Management Team in managing the Service Charge budget.
  • Address service and maintenance issues promptly.
  • Maintain accurate property information and liaison.
  • Provide front-of-house cover when required.

Job Title: Assistant Building Manager | Location: Newcastle City Centre | Contract Type: Permanent | Salary: Up to £34,000 | Working Pattern: Full Time (40 hours per week)

What will you do?
  • Assist the Building Manager with contract meetings, assessing supplier performance through KPIs.
  • Validate invoices for services and monitor ongoing expenditure.
  • Promote occupier engagement through tenant meetings and networking events.
  • Manage requests for minor works and oversee their implementation.
  • Conduct daily safety tours and property inspections.
  • Ensure health, safety, and environmental management systems are maintained.
  • Support the Management Team in managing the Service Charge budget.
  • Address service and maintenance issues promptly, keeping all parties informed.
  • Maintain accurate property information and liaise with occupiers and staff.
  • Adhoc front of house cover when required.
What are we looking for?
  • IOSH Managing Safely qualification (essential).
  • Membership of IWFM and/or IOSH (highly desirable).
  • Exceptional communication skills at all levels.
  • A flexible, adaptable, and cooperative attitude.
  • A self‑starter mentality with strong initiative and self‑motivation.
  • Good management skills to motivate and drive staff to meet high standards.
