Job summary

Block Recruit is seeking an Assistant Property Manager to join a friendly, office-based team overseeing a residential portfolio. The successful candidate will support day-to-day property management across Surrey and South London, assisting with service charges, compliance, and coordination with the Senior Property Manager.

You will handle customer enquiries, liaise with contractors, assist with AGMs, and help with invoices and pack preparation, enabling smooth operations for a growing

Responsibilities

  • Answer incoming calls professionally and courteously.
  • Assist with customer enquiries, leak investigations, and insurance claims.
  • Support preparation and understanding of legal management packs.
  • Assist with Fire, Health & Safety and compliance recommendations.
  • Support Annual General Meetings (AGMs).
  • Prepare and issue service charge year-end accounting packs and Section 20 notices.
  • Liaise with contractors and obtain quotations for works.
  • Assist with invoice processing in line with company procedures.
  • Provide support to the Senior Property Manager and cover office requirements when required.
  • Assist with day-to-day management of residential properties.

Assistant Property Manager (APM)

Location: Surrey
Hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00am–5:30pm (37.5 hours per week)
Salary: £28,000–£30,000
Reporting to: Senior Property Manager

Holiday: 28 days holidays increasing one day per year up to 35 days

Additional information: A friendly small team of 6, parking available at the office, fully office based position with opportunity for progression within the block management sector.

Overview

An exciting opportunity has become available for an Assistant Property Manager to join a well-established property management company. The successful candidate will support the management of a residential portfolio of approximately 1,400 units across Surrey and South London, assisting with a wide range of property management responsibilities and working closely with the Senior Property Manager.

Key Responsibilities
  • Answering incoming calls in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Assisting with customer enquiries, leak investigations, and insurance claims.
  • Supporting the preparation and understanding of legal management packs.
  • Assisting with Fire, Health & Safety, and compliance recommendations.
  • Supporting with Annual General Meetings (AGMs).

Person Specification
  • Previous experience working within the property sector. (lettings or block)
  • Strong customer service experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work independently while taking a proactive approach.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team within an office environment.
