Job summary

Project Accountants (UK) LTD in London seeks an experienced accounting professional to support general accounting, financial reporting, and tax compliance, with a focus on month-end close and management accounts preparation.

The ideal candidate holds a degree in accounting or finance, is or aiming to be ACCA/CA/ICAEW, and demonstrates IFRS and UK GAAP expertise, advanced Excel and Office 365 skills, and the ability to guide junior colleagues.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in accounting or finance roles, focusing on general accounting & tax compliance.
• Experience with month-end and period-end close and preparation of recurring management accounts.
• Offshore financial services sector experience is a preference.
• Experience in professional services, audit, or accounting advisory.
• Experience preparing technical accounting memoranda or advisory-style papers.
• Experience guiding or supervising junior team members.
• Experience in financial services is desirable.
• Degree in Accounting/Finance.
• Qualified or pursuing accountant with ACCA/CA/ICAEW.
• Strong IFRS and UK GAAP expertise.
• Proven experience in financial services.
• Advanced Excel and Office 365 skills.
• Experience reviewing work and providing feedback.

Job description

• 3-5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, with a focus on general accounting, financial reporting, and tax compliance.
• Experience supporting month-end and period-end close processes, including the preparation of recurring management accounts.
• Experience of working in the offshore financial services sector as a preference.
• Prior experience in a professional service, audit, or accounting advisory environment.
• Exposure to preparing technical accounting memoranda or advisory-style papers.
• Experience providing guidance, review, or informal supervision to junior team members.
• Prior experience in Financial services is desirable.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Qualified/Pursing accountant and member of a recognised professional accounting body (e.g. ACCA, CA or ICAEW).
• Strong technical accounting experience, with demonstrable expertise in IFRS and UK GAAP.
• Proven experience within the financial services sector.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 applications.
• Experience reviewing work prepared by others and providing clear, constructive feedback.
• Excellent attention to detail, with a consistent focus on delivering high-quality outputs.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to structure work logically and manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
• Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and a high standard of ethical conduct.
