A leading housing association based in London is seeking an Assistant Accountant – Reporting & Compliance. The successful candidate will assist in delivering high-quality reporting and compliance services, ensuring adherence to accounting standards and tax legislation. This full-time position offers a hybrid working model, ideal for self-motivated individuals with strong accounting fundamentals and excellent Microsoft Office skills.

Skills

Good working knowledge of accounting fundamentals
Experience in statutory reporting or tax processes
Ability to analyse and manipulate data
Good understanding of internal financial controls

Proven customer service experience
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel

Education

Part qualified CCAB/CIMA accountant

About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Accountant – Reporting & Compliance to join the Guinness Team. This is a full time, 35 hours per week, permanent role based in our London, Euston Road office. We are currently working to a hybrid working style.

The overall purpose of the role is to assist with the delivery of a high quality reporting and compliance service to the company in accordance with agreed time tables and in line with accounting standards and tax legislation.

You will be able to demonstrate
Essential:
  • Good working knowledge of accounting fundamentals.
  • Experience in statutory reporting or tax processes.
  • Ability to analyse and manipulate data.
  • Good understanding of internal financial controls.
  • Good attention to detail with ability to prioritise and manage a varied workload to meet agreed deadlines.
  • Good oral and written communications.
  • Proven customer service experience.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Demonstrates the Guinness Behaviours.
Desirable:
  • Experience of using Oracle Financials or equivalent finance system.
  • Experience of VAT and CIS return preparation.
  • Proven experience of project management.
Qualifications
Essential:
  • Part qualified CCAB/CIMA accountant (have completed Applied Skills level of ACCA, professional level of ACA, CIMA Management Level or equivalent).
