Job summary

Vickerstock, partnering with a local manufacturing business, is seeking an Assistant Accountant in the Dungannon area to support financial reporting and month-end processes. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will help maintain accurate accounting records and assist with variance analyses and budgeting preparation.

You will gain exposure to accounts payable and receivable, VAT, payroll tasks where applicable, and contribute to process improvements while ensuring compliance with internal

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related discipline.
• Currently sitting exams or in a formal training contract (CAI, CIMA, ACCA).
• Experience completing reconciliations, posting journals and preparing financial reports.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (MS Business Central is advantageous).

Responsibilities

• Assist with monthly management accounts and month-end close activities.
• Maintain general ledger records, post journals and perform bank, supplier and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Process supplier invoices and employee expenses, supporting timely payments.
• Monitor customer accounts, assist with credit control and resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare financial reports and variance analyses to support management decisions.
• Support budgeting and forecasting, tracking departmental expenditures.
• Prepare documentation for internal and external audits.
• Assist with VAT, payroll and other statutory reporting where applicable.
• Ensure internal controls and accounting standards are followed.
• Support finance system maintenance and process improvements.
