What You'll Do

As Assistant Accountant, you'll support the Finance Manager in the day-to-day running of the finance function. Duties will include:

  • Assisting with month-end accounts preparation
  • Preparing and supporting monthly management accounts
  • Managing accounts payable and receivable
  • Completing bank reconciliations and journal entries
  • Supporting VAT returns and other statutory reporting
  • Helping to prepare accurate financial reports for senior management
  • Liaising with external partners, suppliers, and internal teams
  • Maintaining accurate records and financial documentation
  • Supporting wider finance tasks as required in a growing business
About You
  • Previous experience in a similar Assistant Accountant or Accounting Technician
  • A good understanding of accounting processes and principles
  • Experience using accounting software (e.g. Sage, Xero, QuickBooks)
  • Strong Excel skills and good attention to detail
  • A positive attitude with a willingness to learn and take initiative
  • Studying towards or interested in an accounting qualification (AAT/ACCA/CIMA) is a plus, but not essential
