The Role

We’re looking for a Junior Accountant to join our friendly, close-knit team. You’ll get stuck into all sorts of work for our clients — preparing accounts, supporting with tax, helping businesses make sense of their numbers — and you’ll grow your own skills and career along the way. You will also help us implement needed change for the benefit of our clients in the long-term. This role is well suited to a natural “completer/finisher” type of personality.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Preparing accounts (with some incomplete records work, and bookkeeping for different clients)
• Supporting with tax and compliance work
• Talking with clients in a helpful, clear, friendly, and professional way
• Spotting opportunities to improve things — and suggesting solutions
• Bringing fresh ideas and asking smart questions (we love that)
• Using your initiative and taking ownership

About You

• Ideally 2 years in a similar practice role (qualified or equivalent experience)
• Local. We work flexibly, but would like to see you most of the time
• A strong communicator — you listen, explain things clearly, and make people feel at ease
• Organised with an eagle eye for detail
• Proactive — you roll your sleeves up, make things happen and get things done
• Confident around accounting and tax software and HMRC processes
