Job summary

CMA Recruitment Group is recruiting an Assistant Accountant for a 6-month contract in Eastleigh. The role focuses on supporting transactional processes, reconciliations, and ledger management to ensure accurate financial data.

Are you an aspiring finance professional eager to develop your career within a dynamic distribution business? An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Accountant to join a growing organisation located in Eastleigh on a 6 month contract basis.

What will the Assistant Accountant role involve?

• Supporting transactional processes, including reconciliations and ledger management, to ensure accurate financial data.
• Assisting with month-end reporting and analysis to support senior decision-makers.
• Taking ownership of specific tasks related to inventory accounting and stock management as needed.
• Process month end journals, VAT returns and support with payroll.

Suitable Candidate for the Assistant Accountant vacancy:

• Strong attention to detail coupled with intermediate Excel skills.
• Experience or familiarity with accounting software, ideally NAV or Microsoft Business Central, is desirable.
• Commercial awareness with the ability to identify issues proactively.
• Eagerness to learn and develop within a supportive environment.
• Effective communicator with the ability to work across transactional and month-end activities.
