Qualifications

  • Oversee daily accounting operations including AP, AR, banking, and cash flow management.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Preparation of Balance Sheet Reconciliations.
  • Ensure accurate and timely management accounting and financial reporting.

Skills

Part Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)

Overview

Position Overview: Finning is the world's largest Caterpillar dealer. We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional customer experiences and innovative solutions. We are looking for an Assistant Accountant to join our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assistant Accountant for Finning subsidiaries for UK & Ireland
  • Oversee daily accounting operations including AP, AR, banking, and cash flow management.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes, including intercompany transactions, accruals, and asset management.
  • Ensure accurate results by business line
  • Preparation of Balance Sheet Reconciliations
  • Ensure that the accounting provides relevant and reliable information both at Group and Local level.
  • Support Finning Tax team with VAT and corporate tax submissions
  • Prepare audit files and coordinate local audits, ensuring compliance with internal controls and external regulations.
  • Ensure accurate and timely management accounting and financial reporting.
  • Support Group Finance Manager with information/ forecasting/ AOP
  • Support ad-hoc activities
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
  • Part Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a similar accounting role.
  • Proficient in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • High level of numeracy and attention to detail.
  • Fluent in English with the ability to manage deadlines and work collaboratively in teams.
