Job summary

Venture Recruitment Partners are supporting a fast–paced, privately–backed SME, based in Bournemouth, with their recruitment for a newly–created Assistant Accountant position.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a solid foundation in finance who enjoys variety, responsibility, and working in a collaborative environment where you supported and treated as a valued employee.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparing and completing regular bank, client, and control account reconciliations
  • Investigating and resolving reconciliation discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Processing supplier invoices, staff expenses, and payments
  • Managing debtor and creditor ledgers and ensuring balances are up to date
  • Recording and maintaining prepayments and accruals in line with month–end procedures
  • Reviewing employee expense claims and reconciling corporate card transactions
  • Assisting with month–end journals, reconciliations, and management reporting
Experience / Qualifications
  • 1 3 years experience in a finance or accounting role, ideally within financial services, lending or property finance
  • Experience using Xero or Sage and strong Excel or skills
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal communication
