Maintenance Manager – Street Lighting

- Hours:37 per week, Monday–Friday, flexible working (typically 9am–5pm)
- Hybrid Working:Minimum 4 days in office, with some remote working as agreed
Join our team as a Maintenance Manager and lead the street lighting maintenance across our network. This role is perfect for someone with a blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, and a strong grasp of budget management. You will ensure that all statutory obligations are met and that the department continuously improves and achieves its KPIs.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Street Lighting Maintenance:Oversee all aspects of street lighting maintenance, including structural testing and electrical compliance.
- Team Leadership:Manage and develop a small team, fostering a culture of accountability and innovation.
- Budget Management:Act as a budget holder, ensuring best value and accurate financial control for maintenance programs.
- Compliance & Safety:Ensure all statutory obligations and health & safety requirements are met, including electrical certification and record-keeping.
- System Management:Support the transition from Sinology to I-aura and ensure effective use of asset management systems.
- Technical Oversight:Review pass/fail reports from electricians, approve works, and apply electrical stamps as required.
- Continuous Improvement:Identify and implement changes to improve efficiency, service delivery, and compliance.
- Stakeholder Engagement:Liaise with internal teams and external contractors to deliver projects and meet service standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in street lighting maintenance and electrical supervision.
- Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems (IET BS7671 Wiring Regulations).
- Management experience, including team leadership and budget control.
- Familiarity with asset management systems (experience with Sinology or I-aura advantageous).
- Excellent understanding of health & safety legislation and compliance requirements.
- Ability to manage KPIs and deliver against performance targets.
- Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office and data management.
