About the Role and the Team

We’re looking for an Asset Protection Specialist to help create a safe and welcoming environment for all Cast Members and Guests. You’ll play a key role in protecting the magic by preventing risks and responding to security concerns with professionalism and care. This position reports to the Senior Asset Protection Specialist.

What You Will Do
  • Be a visible presence at store entrances/exits and across the shop floor, acting as a deterrent to potential risks and responding to incidents quickly and calmly.
  • Apply specialised training in Retail Counterterrorism and Workplace Security to identify and report suspicious activity, aggressive behaviour, and potential threats.
  • Conduct safety inspections and audits, both in person and via CCTV, and assess risks to Store Leadership and Corporate Asset Protection.
  • Support investigations and assist with emergency preparedness and crisis response programmes.
  • Promote a culture of safety, inclusion, and risk awareness while delivering exceptional Guest service.
  • Respond to Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) activations and monitor security systems, alarms, and cameras.
  • Carry out access checks for Cast Members and vendors, including bag and package inspections.
  • Act as the liaison with law enforcement and external security partners, ensuring seamless collaboration.
  • Uphold Disney values and behaviours in every interaction.
  • Oversee third-party security teams to maintain consistent standards and integration.
Required Qualifications & Skills
  • Experience in retail Asset Protection, Loss Prevention, Security, or Guest service.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Skilled in non-escalation and de-escalation techniques for both guest service and critical scenarios.
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence liaising with internal teams and external partners, including Police.
  • Ability to lead and resolve safety/security incidents and manage projects from start to finish.
  • Physically able to lift up to 40 pounds and climb ladders.
  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Comfortable delivering training and awareness sessions in both one-to-one and group settings.
Preferred Qualifications
  • In-depth knowledge of retail Asset Protection and Security practices.
  • Familiarity with safety procedures and physical security technology (CCTV, Access Control, EAS systems).
  • Experience analysing Exception-Based Reporting and POS data.
  • Proficient in incident management and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • First Aid/CPR/AED certification.
