Job description

Are you a driven, ambitious individual, ready to take the next step towards your real estate career? We are looking for an Associate Asset Manager to join us at our regional office in Birmingham. You will be part of a young, dynamic team taking care of our first-rate property portfolio as we build and consolidate Mileway’s position as the market leader in last mile real estate.

Under the leadership of experienced senior colleagues, you’ll assist with asset management strategy and lease and property management. You’ll work alongside our international team to drive the management of our premium asset portfolio, while making great connections and building Mileway’s local and national relationships.

Working at Mileway

We offer an opportunity you simply won’t find anywhere else. Launched in 2019, Mileway has rapidly grown into Europe’s leader in last-mile logistics real estate, with a team of over 550 across more than twenty offices in 11 countries. From the start, Mileway set out to be a different kind of real estate company, with a cloud-based IT infrastructure and a team that combines local expertise with the pooled strengths of a pan-European presence.

Our culture is fast-paced and highly international, with team members from more than 50 countries, bringing diverse perspectives and a “can-do” attitude to everything we do. While we have already achieved a lot, we’re only just getting started – our purpose is to be Europe’s leading provider of last mile logistics real estate, enabling businesses to thrive, driving sustainability forward, and shaping the cities of tomorrow. To get there, we live by our values: Drive, Trust, Grow, Together.

At Mileway, we believe company growth comes from supporting the growth of our combined capabilities. That's why we offer an in-house learning & development programme where personal, professional, and business development go hand in hand, helping you carve out your own unique career path. For those working towards Chartered Surveyor status, we offer a clear pathway to RICS Chartered status through the APC, with structured support, mentoring, and guidance from experienced colleagues. You'll be based in our Birmingham office. While we embrace a flexible approach to work, our policy requires working from the office three days a week. To support this, we provide a state-of-the‑art technology package to keep you connected at all times.

What you'll do
  • Support the management of Mileway's portfolio by assisting with lettings, lease renewals, rent reviews, lease surrenders, and associated capital expenditure.
  • Assist in negotiating commercial lease terms and preparing contractual lease documentation.
  • Monitor asset performance and identify potential risks, escalating issues and recommending solutions where appropriate.
  • Conduct market research and provide insights to support asset management strategy and identify value creation opportunities.
  • Carry out financial analysis and support the preparation of property budgets, business plans, and asset management reports.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance portfolio performance, including supporting marketing initiatives for vacant properties, arranging viewings, and assisting with the conversion of opportunities into completed lettings.
  • Support refurbishment, redevelopment, and extension projects by working closely with the Development and Finance teams to ensure projects are delivered in line with business plans.
  • Build strong relationships with occupiers to understand their business requirements and deliver a high level of customer service.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with regional and national consultants, occupiers, external property managers, legal advisers, and internal stakeholders.
What you'll bring
  • A genuine interest in real estate and the growing last-mile logistics sector, with the ambition to develop your asset management career.
  • Strong analytical, financial, and commercial skills, with the ability to interpret data and support valuations, financial modelling, and business planning.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • A bachelor's degree in a RICS-accredited discipline or equivalent.
  • A proactive, hands‑on approach with the confidence to work independently while collaborating effectively with colleagues.
  • A willingness to learn from experienced professionals and take ownership of your professional development.
  • An interest in working towards RICS Chartered Surveyor status through the APC, supported by Mileway's structured mentoring programme.
