Job summary

The Asset Integrity Inspector / PAF Inspector is responsible for conducting onshore inspection, reporting, and corrosion management activities on mechanical static equipment.
Position Summary:

The Asset Integrity Inspector / PAF Inspector is responsible for conducting onshore inspection, reporting, and corrosion management activities on mechanical static equipment. The role involves assessing equipment condition and determining its suitability for continued service in accordance with company procedures, client requirements, UK legislation, and ISO 17020 requirements. Work may be performed during shutdowns, projects, or routine maintenance programs, while also supporting the maintenance of UKAS ISO 17020 accreditation.

Responsibilities:
  • Inspection and Asset Integrity Activities
  • Carry out work in accordance with ISO 17020 requirements.
  • Operate within the scope of the issued Letter of Authority under UKAS accreditation.
  • Perform inspections in line with relevant legislation and approved procedures.
  • Prepare and review Written Schemes of Examination (WSE) for non-PSSR equipment.
  • Identify preparation requirements for inspections.
  • Conduct examinations in accordance with Written Schemes of Examination.
  • Coordinate and support Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) activities.
  • Interpret inspection results against applicable standards and specifications.
  • Produce clear, accurate, and timely technical reports.
  • Liaise with and support clients as required.
  • Contribute to a positive team culture focused on quality, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
  • Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (HSEQ)
  • Maintain a working knowledge of ISO/IEC 17020 and its application to inspection activities.
  • Attend and contribute to health and safety training and briefings.
  • Take responsibility for personal and workplace health and safety.
  • Use and maintain Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Promote a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure all work is carried out safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
  • Stop unsafe work and report concerns to management.
  • Report accidents, near misses, and safety observations.
  • Comply with company policies, procedures, and risk assessments.
Reporting Requirements:
  • Complete inspection reports in accordance with company standards.
  • Ensure reports are accurate and compliant with relevant standards.
  • Provide information regarding risks, mitigation measures, and occupational health considerations.
  • Accurately complete timesheets and inspection-related documentation, including equipment serial numbers and batch numbers.
  • Review and approve reports before submission to clients where applicable.
  • Complete digital reporting systems as required.
  • Information Security and Compliance
  • Promote and maintain high standards of Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality.
  • Develop positive relationships with clients and suppliers.
  • Maintain clean and safe office and site environments.
  • Participate in company and client HSEQ initiatives.
  • Fulfil information security responsibilities, including secure handling of records.
  • Comply with company and group procedures related to physical and information security.
  • Complete assigned training on information security and data confidentiality.
  • Report vulnerabilities, threats, or breaches in accordance with company procedures.
Qualifications:
Essential Qualifications
  • ASME Level 1 certification or working towards certification.
  • Meets minimum RG0 competence requirements.
  • Confined Space Entry certification.
  • Working at Height certification.
  • Valid site safety passport for onshore work.
  • Meets minimum vision requirements.
  • Full UK driving licence.
Desirable Qualifications
  • EEMUA 159 Inspector certification.
  • Emergency First Aid certification.
  • CTS or SC clearance.
Requirements:
Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the fabrication, maintenance, and operation of mechanical static equipment on a high-hazard petrochemical manufacturing site.
  • At least 3 years of direct experience conducting in-service examinations of statutory equipment.
Technical Skills
  • Proficient in computerized management systems such as Credo, SAP, and Maximo.
  • Strong problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to manage NDT personnel or subcontractors.
  • Strong understanding of science and engineering principles.
  • Skilled in the use of inspection tools and equipment.
