Job summary

Randstad Cpe London is seeking an Asset Engineer (E&P) to support renewal, refurbishment and enhancement investment interventions on the Anglia Route, developing project requirements and acceptance criteria for E&P works. The role focuses on traction power contact systems, with knowledge of 25kV overhead line traction power systems, signalling power and fixed plant.

Job description

The Asset Engineer (E&P) supports the determination and development of E&P engineering requirements and business planning to support renewal, refurbishment and enhancement investment interventions on Anglia Route. Produces technical project requirement specifications and acceptance criteria for E&P engineering works to achieve the required scope and quality in accordance with company asset policies.

The focus of this role is the traction power contact systems, optimising their performance. You must have prior knowledge of the design/operation and maintenance of 25kV overhead line traction power systems, signalling power and fixed plant.

1. Contribute to the development of route strategies and the prioritised workbank. Manage the inclusion of allocated items into appropriate programmes and monitor through to completion, including approval of programme changes. Determine and advise on the implications if work is not undertaken in the recommended time-frame including impact on appropriate asset measures and outputs.
2. Develop and implement the E&P renewal, refurbishment and enhancement work bank to deliver Network Rail’s goals.
3. Specify and accept the renewal requirements criteria for E&P engineering works including design approval and any specific requirements for acceptance of the equipment into maintenance.
4. Following handover to delivery, support the development and implementation of projects to confirm the renewals requirements are correctly interpreted, that any changes in scope are agreed, the agreed deliverables in the asset management plan are delivered and that the scheme delivers the project remit.
5. Identify issues of national significance and elevate to the national team. Support the development and review of national standards relating to renewals and enhancements.
6. Check that accurate and comprehensive records relating to the existence, configuration and modification history of E&P engineering assets are maintained and that they accurately reflect their current ‘as built’ status.
7. Contribute to the development and maintenance of route asset management plans.
8. Carry out asset condition inspections that will inform the E&P asset condition database and the renewals work bank
