Job summary

Additional Resources is seeking an Asset Data Analyst in Alloa, Scotland to support a renewable energy developer. The role focuses on processing data from energy assets, building automated data workflows using Python, SQL and Excel, and delivering insights to optimise performance.

You will develop live dashboards, monitor asset availability and KPIs, review contractor data and produce actionable reports. A technical degree and solid data analysis background are required.

Qualifications

• Experience cleaning and processing time-series data.
• Strong ability to interpret SCADA information and identify technical issues.
• Proficiency with Excel, SQL and Python for data analysis.
• Degree in Engineering, CS, Data Science or related field.
• Experience obtaining data from APIs and industrial platforms.
• Familiarity with cloud storage (AWS/Azure).

Responsibilities

• Managing, processing and analysing data from operational energy assets and associated systems.
• Developing and maintaining automated data collection, cleaning, storage and analysis.
• Monitoring asset output, downtime, faults, curtailment and production losses.
• Reviewing contractor performance data against KPIs and independently checking asset performance.
• Producing regular and ad-hoc analysis to identify trends, anomalies and operational issues.
• Using Python and other programming tools to develop analytical models and automate data workflows.
• Creating clear, accurate reports, dashboards and management information.
• Developing live operational dashboards using data feeds, APIs and automated pipelines where required.
• Maintaining clear documentation covering data processes, pipelines, cleaning.
• Assisting with troubleshooting communications and data infrastructure, including networks, firewalls, VPNs and industrial routers.
• Monitoring operational data feeds such as SCADA telemetry and site security systems.
