Qualifications

  • CCAB part-qualified or significant experience in working with capital project accounting.
  • Previous experience in a finance environment and dealing with tight deadlines.
  • Experience in the creation and management of Fixed Assets and large Capital Projects.
  • Ability to present and explain financial information to non-financial staff.
  • Experience of external audits and providing audit data.
  • Ability to prioritise work and meet tight deadlines.
  • Good understanding of financial accounts preparation and accounting principles.
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships.
  • Ability to resolve problems independently.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the STFC Fixed Asset Register ensuring compliance with IFRS/FReM.
  • Coordinate with Management Accountants and Project Managers on Capital Projects.
  • Reconcile data sets between Oracle PA and Oracle GL.
  • Ensure asset capitalisation and disposals meet UKRI policies.
  • Review transactions for non-capital costs.
  • Ensure assets are not held at values above recoverable amounts.
  • Communicate FA related policies and procedures.
  • Ensure adequate internal controls.
  • Liaise with NAO and GIAA.
