Qualifications

  • Must hold a recognised assessor qualification (e.g., TAQA, CAVA, A1).
  • Experience assessing apprentices in engineering or manufacturing environments.
  • Relevant qualifications in engineering or manufacturing are essential.

Pay: £34,500
Hours: Monday - Friday

The Work-Based Training Advisor will play a key role in supporting apprentices through their Level 3 and Level 4 (electrical / electronic bias) apprenticeship programmes. The postholder will deliver high-quality assessment, guidance, and support to ensure apprentices gain the technical knowledge, practical competence, and professional behaviours required within the engineering and manufacturing sectors. This role contributes to maintaining the high standards of delivery expected by our client and its employer partners.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct workplace assessments for Level 3 and Level 4 Engineering and Manufacturing (electrical / electronic bias) apprentices in line with apprenticeship standards.
  • Deliver knowledge-based training sessions, skills coaching, and assessment planning.
  • Ensure assessments are fair, valid, reliable, and compliant with apprenticeship standards' Knowledge, Skills & Behaviours (KSBs).
  • Provide constructive feedback to apprentices to support continuous progress and achievement.
  • Develop individual learning plans, tracking progress and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Conduct regular review meetings with apprentices and employers to monitor performance and engagement.
  • Support apprentices in preparing evidence for End-Point Assessment (EPA).
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with employer partners.
  • Ensure workplace environments are suitable for on-the-job training and assessment.
  • Liaise with employers to align training activities with workplace requirements and industry expectations.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date assessment and learner records in line with internal and regulatory frameworks.
  • Contribute to internal quality assurance processes and participate in standardisation activities.
  • Uphold safeguarding, health & safety, and data protection policies at all times.
Qualifications
  • A recognised assessor qualification (e.g., TAQA, CAVA, A1, D32/D33 or equivalent) – essential.
  • Relevant engineering and/or manufacturing qualification(s) at Level 3 or above – essential.
  • Teaching qualification (e.g., PTLLS, AET, or above) – desirable but not essential.
  • Proven experience assessing apprentices or learners within industrial engineering or manufacturing environments.
  • Strong industry background with practical experience in engineering, manufacturing operations, or related disciplines.
  • Experience delivering high-quality training, mentoring, or coaching.
  • Familiarity with apprenticeship standards and EPA requirements.
  • Power generation background is highly desirable.
