Job summary

UKAS is seeking an Assessment Manager to lead the Engineering Inspection team focused on Non-Destructive Testing. You will coordinate assessment activities, ensure robust audit processes, and maintain excellent client service while working within the world''s leading accreditation body.

The role requires expertise in NDT techniques, strong communication, and a drive for quality. Extensive UK travel is expected, with engagement spanning before and after assessments.

Qualifications

  • Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline.
  • Preferably holding Level 3 certification in multiple NDT techniques.
  • Knowledge of ISO/IEC 17020, 17024 and 17025 processes is desirable.
  • Several years of hands-on experience in NDT across different techniques.
  • Experience in organisation auditing or assessment is a plus.

Job description

The United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) is looking for a skilled and experienced candidate to take on the exciting and varied role of Assessment Manager within our Engineering Inspection team, focusing on Non-Destructive Testing.

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Have a good understanding of product and process compliance systems applicable to the engineering inspection sector, preferably using ISO/IEC 17020, ISO/IEC 17024 and ISO/IEC 17025.
  • Have several years of hands-on experience within the NDT arena covering different techniques.
  • Be customer-focused with excellent interpersonal, communication and organisation skills.
  • Have experience in organisation auditing or assessment.
  • Be educated to degree level and preferably hold certification to Level 3 in several different NDT techniques. Practical experience in a relevant discipline will also be taken into consideration.

  • Collating and reporting each assessment
  • Progressing each assessment project from start to finish

The position involves extensive travel, mainly within the UK, with frequent overnight stays.
