Job summary

Coventry City Council invites applications for an Assessing Social Worker to join its Adults Services team. The post focuses on safeguarding, learning disabilities, and complex needs, with a strong emphasis on Court of Protection work and interagency collaboration.

Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration is required, and applicants should have experience in Adult Social Care and a solid grasp of the Care Act and Mental Capacity Act. DBS enhanced checks apply.

Qualifications

• Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration.
• Experience within Adult Social Care.
• Strong knowledge of the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, and safeguarding legislation.
• Experience completing Court of Protection applications and related work.
• Previous experience working with adults with Learning Disabilities, Autism, and complex needs.
• Ability to manage a busy caseload and work autonomously.

Responsibilities

• Complete Care Act Assessments and reviews.
• Undertake Mental Capacity Assessments in line with the Mental Capacity Act.
• Carry out Section 42 Safeguarding Enquiries.
• Manage and progress Court of Protection work.
• Participate in duty work on a rota basis.
• Work collaboratively with service users, families, carers, and partner agencies.
• Support adults with Learning Disabilities, Autism and/or Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities.
