Overview

Job Title: Assembly & Test Technician
Pay: £40,539 + Benefits
Location: Wolverhampton, UK (Onsite)
Contract Type: Permanent
Reporting To: Team Leader - Assembly & Test

About the Role

We are seeking experienced Assembly & Test Technicians to join a leading aerospace engineering team based in Wolverhampton. The role involves the assembly and testing of flight-critical actuators and subcomponents to exceptionally close tolerances, requiring precision, technical skill, and a strong understanding of engineering processes. This is an excellent opportunity for skilled technicians who take pride in quality workmanship and want to develop their careers within a high-performing engineering environment.

Working Hours

37 hours per week
Monday to Thursday: 7:30 am - 4:15 pm
Friday: 7:30 am - 11:30 am

Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble and test flight-critical actuators and subcomponents with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Use precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, vernier calipers, and height gauges to inspect components.
  • Work from engineering drawings and component maintenance manuals.
  • Conduct quality audits and ensure all assembly and test procedures are followed.
  • Take responsibility for the release to service of repaired actuators.
Key Skills & Experience
  • Apprentice trained or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Proven experience in an engineering or manufacturing role, ideally within aerospace or other high-precision industries.
  • Good understanding of assembly and test manufacturing.
  • Competent in reading and following engineering drawings and detailed procedures.
  • Experience within an aerospace quality system is advantageous.
