Job summary

Platform Recruitment is seeking an experienced Assembly Team Leader for a fast-paced manufacturing operation in the UK. You will lead daily production, drive Lean initiatives and coach high-performing teams to deliver quality on time.

You will apply 5S, TPM, Kaizen and 8 Wastes to reduce defects and cost, with experience using an MRP/ERP system such as IFS to manage production schedules.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a Lean Manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience leading production or assembly teams.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean tools - 5S, TPM, Kaizen, 8 Wastes and 5 Why problem solving.
  • Experience using IFS or another MRP/ERP manufacturing system.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily production activities to ensure customer orders are delivered on time and to the highest quality standards.
  • Conduct daily team briefings covering production targets, Health & Safety, and 5S activities.
  • Ensure all products are manufactured in accordance with approved procedures and quality standards.
  • Drive improvements in Right First Time (RFT) performance and reduce defects, rework and scrap.
  • Lead, coach and develop a team to achieve high levels of engagement and performance.
  • Drive labour productivity, efficiency and cost improvements.
